Hotel holidays are favoured by many Britons as they’re the perfect opportunity to relax and be looked after. There are hotels to suit nearly all budgets and needs. However, holidaymakers still love the idea of bagging a free upgrade.
LateRooms explained that you’re more likely to be upgraded if you’ve paid more for a room initially.
“If you’re planning to try for a free upgrade, don’t go and book the cheapest room going then ask to be upgraded,” advised the booking site.
“The more you pay for a room initially, the more likely you are to be upgraded.
“Even just booking the second cheapest room will improve your chances.”
There are other ways holidaymakers can try to wangle an upgrade.
One tip from LateRooms is to become a regular at a hotel as they’ll likely want to reward you for your loyalty.
“If you become known at the hotel, they’re likely to do you a favour every now and again,” said LateRooms.
“So if you often travel to the same destination, stay in the same hotel.
