I’m really looking forward

James Martin

Dine In With James Martin is an interactive 90-minute culinary experience where the star will guide the audience on how to cook dinner party favourites, including halloumi with chilli jam.

During the course of the online experience, fans will also be able to chat on screen with James.

He said: “This will be unlike anything I’ve ever done before as I’ll be beamed directly into people’s homes and while they will see what I’m doing, I’ll also be speaking to some people to see how they are getting on.

“We will be cooking together throughout so I’m really looking forward to taking part in such a fun interactive class.

“This is an opportunity for anyone who enjoys cooking to work with me to whip up a delicious three-course meal, and they can then wow their family and friends afterwards with the tasty dishes we create.”

Dine In With James Martin is presented by Live Nation and Cuffe and Taylor with Limelight Celebrity Management.

Ben Hatton, Director of Theatre Touring for Cuffe and Taylor, said: “We are really excited about Dine In With James Martin.

“It is a completely new event concept for us but we believe it is one that fans and budding chefs will love.

“Many of us watch TV chefs and then try to recreate the dish but with this show you can work alongside James and then tuck into a delicious meal afterwards.”

James has been increasingly busy as of late with TV appearances and launching a new menu at his Chewton Glen restaurant post-lockdown.

The celebrity chef took to his Twitter to apologise in advance for his “knackered” appearance, after initially working “every service” at the hotel dining establishment.

On James’ website, he describes The Kitchen at Chewton Glen as being a “stylish, informal, family-friendly, dining in a beautiful, brand-new, purpose-designed space”.

It recently began to welcome back customers after a prolonged closure during the coronavirus pandemic.

Restaurants have suffered dramatically during lockdown, and many have seen their revenue wholly gone.

Speaking of high street closures, James told Somerset Live: “The High Street is hard anyway, but restaurants are usually the first to go.

“There’s an extremely low profit margin, high rent rates and usually very little parking in city centres, meaning people would rather dine outside of the city in country pubs and places like that.

“It all comes down to whether people want to see their favourite restaurant stay open. If yes, they should go there.

“If a restaurant stands the test of time, it will stay.”

The Kitchen was launched in 2017 and features a cookery school run by James.

Tickets are on sale from 10am Friday.
