Jeremy Clarkson net worth: The eye-watering amount the presenter has in the bank

The former Top Gear presenter was trending on Twitter on Thursday as he made his annual remark about A-level results.

Jeremy has become known for his yearly comments on why his poor grades haven’t affected his success – and using it to show off his wealth.

Jeremy tweeted: “A level results not great? Don’t worry, I got a C and 2 Us and I’m currently building a large house with far reaching views of the Cotswolds.”

He then added: “’And I didn’t even get the chance to insist the government gave me three As instead.”

So just how much is Jeremy Clarkson worth?

Clarkson has previously defended the huge seven-figure salaries that were made public by the BBC in 2019.

He told The Times: “When you look at all those BBC salaries that are published, you think, ‘You get that for an hour’s work.’

“No, you don’t. You get that for your entire life being taken over by, ‘Selfie! Selfie! Photo! Photo! Photo!’ Somebody has to pay for that.”

He has also previously said that the money is what he likes most about working in television.

The star has since had success with his show on Amazon along with his previous co-presenters.

Amazon reportedly paid £160million for the three series of The Grand Tour.

Jeremy has also received huge dividends from the BBC, giving him an estimated income of £14million in 2014.

However, while he may have had low grades when he started out, the presenter had a helping hand in getting to where he is today and went to private school.

The fees were funded by his parents after they were awarded the licensing rights to create Paddington Bear toys by the character’s creator Michael Bond.

The author was initially going to take action against the family but gave them permission to keep creating the stuffed bears after striking up a friendship.

Twitter users were quick to point out that the star hardly had a normal start in life compared to the students who faced uncertainty in the pandemic.

“Ahhh, the annual tweet where Jeremy tells kids ‘they can do it’ by bragging about his wealth, while simultaneously forgetting his family wealth through being sole supplier of Paddington Bear toys,” tweeted one.
