Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway, 52, was among thousands of Instagram users who commented on Piers Morgan’s Instagram post last night. The Iatter had shared a heartwarming message to Boris Johnson and his fiancee Carrie Symonds.
It comes after it was confirmed last week Kate’s husband Derek Draper has also been admitted to intensive care with coronavirus after becoming very ill.
In view of his 998,000 followers, Piers wrote: “If you’re not rooting for our Prime Minister tonight & willing him to make a speedy recovery, then you’re a despicable human being.
“He is very ill with a deadly virus & his pregnant partner has also been sick. Incredibly worrying time for them & the country. Come on Boris.”
Kate replied to the post and penned: “Get well soon, Boris.”
Boris was moved to intensive care at St Thomas’ Hospital in central London and given oxygen after his health deteriorated sharply over just two hours, leaving doctors fearing he would need a ventilator.
The GMB star’s comment comes after Derek had urged the public to watch Kate’s isolation video before his own battle with coronavirus.
He was rushed to hospital last Monday where he tested positive with coronavirus.
Prior to his hospital admission, Derek had praised Kate in a heartfelt message.
He had urged his followers to seek comfort in his wife’s resources on isolating amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking to Twitter, he penned: “My wonderful wife @kategarraway has just uploaded some great resources on C-19. They’re on her wellbeing website.
“I think you have to sign up to get access but it’s free.”
His GMB star wife Kate and their kids – Darcey, 14, and William, nine – have been banned from seeing him in hospital.
The family have been self-isolating in their home after Kate began to experience mild symptoms of the virus but has not been tested.
A representative for the GMB host said: “Kate’s husband Derek Draper has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
“He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus.
“Kate hasn’t been tested, however she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home.”
