Kate Middleton has enjoyed plenty of travel all over the world since joining the Royal Family
Kate Middleton has travelled extensively in her role as the Duchess of Cambridge. She and Prince William have been away with their three children on state visits as well as just the two of them. There’s one item that Kate always takes away with her – what is it?
The Duchess will never travel without a trusty bag from French luxury brand Longchamp.
Kate – as well as sister Pippa and mum Carole – have Longchamp handbags in several colours and sizes.
The bags are often seen on the arms of Kate’s entourage when they land at their destination on royal visits abroad.
Christine Gray, editor of LuxuryTravelMagazine.com, has said that the Middleton’s penchant for the Longchamp bags is thanks to their simple, un-flashy nature.

The bags come in plain block colours which go well with an outfit.
They are also wipe-clean which can be ideal for a mother of three.
“The colours are subdued and the materials are sturdy and timeless,” Christine told MailOnline. “It’s a sensible, classic style.”
Longchamp bags aren’t the only staple of Kate’s luggage when she goes away.
All members of the Royal Family will travel with monogrammed clothes covers.
Kate’s insignia comes in blue while her husband’s is red.
Carrying clothes in covers is favoured by many high-end travellers.
The sheaths are particularly useful when excess luggage is not a problem.

What’s more, in Kate’s case, the covers serve to keep her outfits hidden so she can save the surprise for when she wears them.
The Duchess also likes to travel with a Globe-Trotter suitcase.
Globe-Trotter is known for its classic leather travel cases.
The Queen chose the brand for her honeymoon luggage in 1947 and has stayed loyal to Globe-Trotter ever since – as, it seems, have the rest of the royals.
Kate and William each own a 21″ trolley case and the 33″ extra deep suitcase from the limited edition Goring Hotel collection, according to Hello!
The Duchess stayed at the Goring Hotel in London the night before her wedding in 2011.
Each case from the collection is lined with a Gainsborough silk pattern.
This is the same material used in the Royal Suite at the Goring Hotel which was designed by David Linley.
The mother-of-three will always have a yellow luggage tag on her suitcases when she goes away, as does the Queen, 93.
The Duke of Cambridge has a red luggage tag with his name on it to identify his suitcases, just like Prince Charles, 71, while Prince George, 6, has blue and Princess Anne, 69, green.
