Killing Eve season 3 theories: Villanelle killed by Dasha as she saves Eve 1

The BBC thrilled fans last month when they announced Killing Eve would be back on screen sooner than originally planned. But could Villanelle be killed by new arrival Dasha when she returns much to Villanelle’s horror?

Killing Eve returns today with its third season and fans are desperate to know what happened to Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) after the dramatic series two finale.

At the end of season two, MI6 agent Eve was gunned down by Villanelle, but she somehow escaped at the last minute despite the wound.

However, the trailer for the new series revealed Eve has survived the ordeal and viewers want to know how she escaped.

But, there is a lot more to come for the pair and a blast from Villanelle’s past is about to rock the boat even more.

Jodie Comer who plays Villanelle has revealed season three picks up six months from where the viewers left off.

She explained: “It seems that Villanelle is trying to lead a somewhat normal life and move forward.

“She’s trying to convince herself that she is feeling things that everyday people feel. In the opening of the first episode, she’s at an event and gets an unexpected visit from someone in her past who shakes things up within her world.

“Dasha (Harriet Waters) trained Villanelle when she was younger but the relationship was left on rocky terms. Villanelle ends up descending on this crazy journey with Dasha. She doesn’t really have a choice, she’s confused.”

Viewers can expect a deep dive into Villanelle’s past in the third instalment and with that, a whole new side to the assassin.

Jodie explained: “In this series we delve into Villanelle’s past, the loneliness she feels and what family actually means to her. Who are her family – blood and not blood?

“She always finds herself drawn to Konstantin Vasiliev (Kim Bodnia) because he is the closest thing that she has to family.”

It’s not all about Villanelle though and this season will see some fallout between Eve and her husband Niko (Owen McDonnell) after Villanelle murdered his colleague brutally.

Villanelle took aim at Gemma (Emma Pierson) after following Eve to an event and spotted Nico getting a little too close to his colleague.
