Coronation Street star Kym Marsh, 43, said she will “never heal” in an emotional Instagram post today marking 11 years since the death of her son Archie.
The actress, who is best known for playing Michelle Connor in the ITV soap opera, took to the social media site to pay tribute to her son and reflect on “another year” without him.
Archie, the first child of Kym and ex-husband Jamie Lomas, was born 18 weeks early and died shortly after his birth on February 11, 2009.
Kym is also mum to David, 25, and Emilie, 23, from her relationship with Dave Cunliffe and Polly, eight, who she shares with Jamie.
The soap star shared an emotional tribute to her son on Instagram this morning, in view of her 379,000 followers, on what would have been his 11th birthday.
She wrote: “Another year without you. 11 years ago since we had to say goodbye yet it feels like it was yesterday.”
The actress continued: “You were so perfect. So beautiful. Too beautiful for this earth. I wonder what you would have been like. I wish we had had the chance to see your eyes. See you smile. Hear your laugh.”
And on days like today, watch you opening your birthday gifts with all of your friends.”
Kym also spoke about the moments that every parent takes for granted and advised her fans to “cherish every single one”.
She wrote: “I wish I had had the chance to cuddle you better when you were sad, or had a bad dream in the night or have been able to wipe your tears when you had fallen and scraped your knee.
“Those little things we all take for granted with our children, they mean the most. Cherish every single one. Even when they are driving you crazy.”
