Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 Release date: Bad news for Nintendo Switch fans 1

For now, gamers are having to rely on leaks and rumours when it comes to working out The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 release date. What we know so far is that it BOTW 2 is in active development and is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch. The launch date remains a mystery and gamers have been relying on unofficial sources to get the latest predictions.

The latest news suggests that The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 release date has been set for 2021. This information doesn’t come from Nintendo directly but the Sabi Twitter account, which has shared big news in the past.

Sabi, who correctly leaked tonnes of E3 2019 announcements, previously said Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 was planned for a 2020 release date.

This prediction changed earlier this year when he told his followers: “Botw2 taking longer than anticipated back during E3 2019, so it doesn’t seem to be this year’s holiday release, which adds more credence to the major title I was referencing on a tweet the other day.

“Neither is set in stone yet so take some salt. The more likely one has… Tires”.

But since this information was shared, the Sabi Twitter account was deactivated, before coming back and confirming that it would not be sharing Nintendo related leaks anymore.

“I’m not posting Nintendo leaks. I will, however, continue this account through journalism and overall community engagement, similar to say, Stealth. I still want to be a useful account for sharing news for you to see,” the Sabi account confirmed.

This will be disappointing news for some Nintendo Switch gamers, who are desperate to hear more about upcoming projects. However, the upside is that they will still be able to rely on the Sabi account to share important gaming news.

Meanwhile, Nintendo might not be far away from sharing an official update with fans.  Another source has suggested that a Nintendo Direct event is being scheduled for mid-March 2020.

This was also linked to a new Nintendo Direct being held this month, which turned out to be true and focused on Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

And it certainly sounds like Nintendo has plenty to share about its plans for 2002. Ever since the Switch came out in 2017, there have been plenty of exclusive games released for the hit hybrid console.

But this year only two exclusive games are confirmed as releasing on the Switch – Animal Crossing New Horizons and the Xenoblade Chronicles remake.

Fans have been left wondering if Ninty has a few games up its sleeve that are coming to the Switch in 2020 which they have not yet announced.

Whatever is or isn’t revealed in early 2020, the hype surrounding Breath of the Wild 2 is sure to endure among Nintendo Switch gamers.

If no new Nintendo Direct is announced in the coming month then the next big event will be E3 2020.

The Japanese games giant’s attendance has been confirmed and that means that a big conference could be in the offing.
