Linda Lusardi, 61, has been left heartbroken after revealing her beloved pet dog Dexter had died. After suffering an injury to his spinal cord during an operation, she and her husband Sam Kane, had to make the awful decision to have him put down.

The former Emmerdale actress shared her grief on Instagram earlier this week, where she expressed her sorrow to her 42.9K fans.
“It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you Dexter was put to sleep this morning,” she wrote.
“He had a problem with his spine and after an operation that we thought would cure him he developed Myelopathy with no cure.
“We will miss our little man so much.”
Linda relied on her furry friend for much needed cuddles after she and her hubby came down the the deadly coronavirus a few weeks ago.

And it seems the loss has hit her hard as she admitted: “God I miss my baby Dexter so much. Can’t believe he’s gone.”
The Strictly contestant was pictured recovering at home with her pooch after spending 10 days in hospital with COVID-19.
She was one of the first celebs in the UK to reveal she had contracted the virus, which has killed over 18,000 hospitalised people throughout the nation.
Appearing via video link on Good Morning Britain last week, the pair spoke to Lorraine Kelly from their home about Linda’s close brush with death.
“I went into meltdown thinking I would never see my wife again.”
And when he was finally allowed to visit, what greeted him shook him to the core, admitting he thought she was “dead” when he saw her in intensive care.
“When I walked through the door I thought she was gone, she looked like she was dead,” he recalled, Linda relied on oxygen and a drip to keep her alive.
Speaking to Lorraine, Linda became very emotional as she talked about her recovery.
