London Park Royal fire: 80 firefighters rush to tackle massive blaze – smoke fills skyline

A total of 80 firefighters and 15 fire engines are tackling the huge blaze in a shop with flats above on Minerva Road in Park Royal. The public have been asked to avoid the area. The fire comes just three weeks after a blaze engulfed a number of properties less than a mile aware on Sunbeam Road, Park Royal, near Acton Cemetery. The London Fire Brigade has received more than 50 calls regarding the fire and have urged nearby residents to shut windows and doors.



A spectator recording footage of the fire can be head saying: “One of the units of the industrial site has caught fire.

“You can hear in the background emergency services rushing to the scene. Some have already arrived.

“This fire looks out of control. As you can see from the smoke it’s been burning for quite awhile.”

The London Fire Brigade wrote on Twitter: “We’ve taken over 50 999 calls to the blaze in Park Royal.

“There is a lot of thick black smoke so please close your doors and windows if you are nearby.”

The Fire Brigade said the blaze if affecting a bakery and restaurant.

There are no reports of any injuries.

A spokesperson for the Brigade described the fire as “severe and highly visible”.

Relating to the fire on July 2, 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines had battled the blaze.

The crews made “steady progress” when tackling the inferno.

In its latest update, it added that a single-storey industrial laundry unit was alight.

Crews were called at 2.19am, with firefighters from Park Royal, Acton, North Kensington, Ealing, Chiswick, Wembley and other stations attended the scene.

A spokesman for the service tweeted: “Crews are making steady progress at the fire in Park Royal.

“Part of a single-storey industrial unit remains alight. This was the scene firefighters were faced with when they arrived at the blaze.”

The brigade previously tweeted: “Fifteen fire engines are now at the scene of the fire in #ParkRoyal A range of single-storey industrial units are alight.”

The cause of the blaze is not yet known and there were not any reports of injuries.
