Loose Women was back on our screens this afternoon for the latest edition of the ITV daytime show.
TV presenter Andrea McLean was in the anchor’s seat today alongside panelists Saira Khan and Denise Welch, and Coleen Nolan joined in the conversation via a video link from the comfort of her own home.
Coleen chatted to her co-stars on Monday about her new reality show The Nolans Go Cruising, which is a part travelogue, part performance and part family dynamics reality show as the former pop group head off on a cruise through the Mediterranean.
Speaking about her trip with her sisters, Coleen explained: “It as emotional because we really opened up to each other.
“The show leads up to us performing I’m In The Mood For Dancing, which is of course Bernie’s song.”
Coleen’s sister and The Nolans star Bernie died from breast cancer in July 2013.
The band perform their hit single I’m In The Mood For Dancing on the show, but the sisters had to decide who would take over lead Singer Bernie’s part in the song.
Coleen said: “I thought it was going to be a long decision about who would take over Bernie’s part but the other three said I was doing it.
“For me, you can’t try to compete. No one can sing it like Bernie.
“She had the best range and she did it effortless.”
“I just gave it my best shot. Even trying to remember the routine was a mission for us.”
She added: “I felt like was she was on the cruise with us when we were all together.”
“I got off the cruise loving my sisters even more. I feel closer to than I ever have in my life.”
Panelist Denise asked Coleen: “Do you think there will be a Nolan’s Tour in the future?”
Coleen simply replied: “No”.
She added: “I would like to do more programmes with them again but touring is completely different ball game.”
Saira admitted she felt emotional listening to Coleen talk about Bernie ahead of her the seventh anniversary of her death on the weekend.
