However, Jamie Redknapp’s ex-wife admitted today that she found one particular aspect of the series “hard” to cope with.
The singer got onto the subject when Susanna asked: “Strictly was a critical moment for you, wasn’t it?
“Because it was like a moment when you thought, ‘I remember what it’s like to perform again.’”
Louise, who danced with Kevin Clifton on the programme, explained she wasn’t too fond of the “circus” that comes with it.

She divulged: “Strictly is a mad circus of a show, you know, good and bad.
“I don’t like the circus that comes with the show at all and I found that extremely hard.”
In spite of her revelation, Louise said she enjoyed the fact that the training schedule for the dance competition gave her a “purpose every morning”.
She continued: “I think what it really did for me, and I know that people will be able to relate to this, it really was nice to all of a sudden after 15 years have a real purpose every morning.”
The mum-of-two then credited the show for helping her to return to her background in performing, adding: “So I made myself say yes to it, and I realised that performing is what I love, it’s what I grew up doing, it’s what I went to stage school for.
“That’s what makes me, what defines me. It’s what gives me confidence and makes me feel I’m worth something. Even though I had a lovely life and there’s nothing more important to me than my boys, I felt like I needed to have a little fire again.
“And whether I’m singing in front of 10 people or 50,000, it doesn’t matter. That’s all I know how to do and without it, I think I just felt a little bit… worthless.”
Louise has now embarked on a solo music career and released her album Heavy Love last week.
