Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore dropped a major bombshell on the islanders on Friday night as she brought bad news for six contestants. But the tension in the dramatic episode was momentarily punctured when fans spotted a spelling mistake, with the production team misspelling new lad Ched’s name during a confessional sequence.
Scaffolder Ched hasn’t been part of the Love Island set-up for that long and it seems the crew are still becoming used to his presence.
During a confessional sequence on the show, where Ched spoke directly to the camera about his feelings, fans noted an obvious error.
To the right of the muscular fellow was his name, or rather, what should have been his name.
Instead of “Ched” being displayed, his name was given another vowel for free and “Chied” was posted on the screen.

Ched, too, previously confessed he was more interested in other female members of the villa.
During an interview before his entered the show, he had spoken of fancying Rebecca, Sophie, and Siannise.
There is some excitement around the coupling of Jess and Ched - who have yet to be christened Chess - due to how they might affect another member of the villa.
Fans have commented on social media there may have been an ulterior motive to Jess selecting Ched.
