Season four of the romantic fantasy series saw Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) face off against his former demonic subject Dromos.
Dromos was possessing the body of Father Kinley (Graham McTavish), who had previously prophesied evil being unleashed when the Devil walked the Earth and found his first love.
At first, Lucifer thought the prophecy referred to his first wife, Eve (Inbar Levi), who had left the Silver City to look for her ex in Los Angeles.
However, he eventually realised the prophecy referred to his detective partner Chloe Decker (Lauren German), so the pair shared a kiss before he journeyed back to Hell to keep the forces of evil at bay.

Lucifer season 5 theories: Fans have been waiting for Deckerstar to get together
With Lucifer’s future unclear, fans have been speculating how LA’s devilish playboy will make it back to Earth and reunite with Chloe.
Season five was previously assumed as Lucifer’s last, but a new contract deal between lead star Tom Ellis and Warner Bros. Television has put season six back on the cards.
Now it seems Lucifer is likely to continue well into the future, Netflix subscribers aren’t so sure Lucifer and Chloe’s long teased romance will finally come to fruition in season five.
Moreover, a recent comment from one of the show’s biggest stars, Lesley-Ann Brandt, could suggest another romance could arise from an unexpected place.

Lucifer season 5 theories: Will Maze have to choose between Eve and Lucifer?
Lesley-Ann portrays Lucifer’s right-hand demon and bounty hunter Mazikeen, also known as Maze, who has stuck with the former and current ruler of Hell in both the underworld and the mortal plane.
In a video chat with Entertainment Tonight she said: “They are forever connected. Forever. They have experienced so much.”
Lesley-Ann then teased: “There’s a really fun scene which is kind of heartbreaking, too, for the fans who are the purists who wanted to see the Maze and Lucifer characters, like the old school versions.”
Before Lucifer fully committed to pursuing Chloe as a romantic partner, Lucifer and Maze often had flirty exchanges with one another back in the first season.

There has been no word on how long Lucifer will have to stay in Hell between seasons, so his new reign on the throne could see him starting the next season as a changed angel.
Once Lucifer’s been rescued, he could seek companionship from someone more familiar and demonic, such as his best friend Maze.
Unfortunately, Lesley-Ann wasn’t able to reveal any specifics about the ‘heartbreaking’ scene in season five, and joked ‘I can’t tell you!’ when ET pressed her for more details.
However, her comments feed into another fan theory which proposed a major betrayal between Maze and Chloe could provide the main conflict throughout season five.
The star went on to tease: “She is confronted with having to deal with something that is the ultimate betrayal.
“I can’t go into too much detail but it’s really challenging for her and she will carry that throughout the season, almost toward the end.”
Production of season five is currently on hold amid the coronavirus pandemic, but fans are hoping for an update from Netflix regarding the first eight episodes to arrive soon.
