Despite finding a new home amongst mortals, Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) hasn’t been able to shake his heavenly parents throughout the Fox and Netflix series. Now a new theory is suggesting that an unlikely friend could have been God all along.
In the world of Lucifer, the fallen angel is not only the son of his celestial father, but also has a mother in the form of Goddess (Tricia Helfer).
Goddess wreaked havoc on Earth in season two before being banished, doing so by possessing the body of a human lawyer named Charlotte.
It took Lucifer wielding the Biblical Flaming Sword to send his mother to the Void, so the arrival of God in the upcoming season could spell even more trouble.
It was recently announced that Dennis Haysbert would be playing the big man himself.

However, one fan has theorised that God could have been walking amongst the mortals all along.
They took to Reddit to speculate that God may have been one of Lucifer’s smallest unlikely human friends in disguise.
Reddt user Woohoo_Highfive said: “I had this idea that maybe Trixie is God in disguise, and now I can’t not see it.”
Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) is the angelic little daughter of Lucifer’s love interest Chloe Decker (Lauren German) who eventually softens the steely barrier of Heaven’s most infamous fallen angel.
For an eight-year-old she is incredibly wise beyond her years, and usually remains unfazed by the hellish antics of Lucifer and his right-hand woman Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt).
The fan continued: “The way she runs up and hugs Lucifer, and how much he hates it, it just made me think maybe God wants Lucifer to know he’s still loved but he can’t see it.
“I think it would be hilarious and also kind of meaningful that God could be walking among humans seeing the world through the eyes of a child, trying to help and nobody notices till the very end.”
Despite Lucifer’s awkwardness around children, the strange pair forged an unlikely after the devilish police consultant protected Trixie from her school bully.

Given the recent casting news the viewer concedes that this theory is unlikely to come to fruition.
Trixie revealing herself as Lucifer’s father all along would make for a surreal twist for the next season, though, and change the way fans view their developing relationship.
Lucifer plays the role of a cool uncle figure in Trixie’s life, and this potential twist would dramatically change up their familial connection.
One fan commented: “I don’t think she will be or not, but that’s a really good theory I would say! I have never thought about it, but it could be, as we have not seen God yet.”
