“Our coldest night of the week as temperatures tumble. There is widespread sharp frost turning icy with slippery surfaces and thick freezing fog developing as the night wears on with poor visibility.”
Lucy continued: “So a lot is going on tomorrow morning. Bitterly cold from the word go, the frost and fog could well be slow to shift. Staying grey all day with that mist and fog through parts of the Midlands, East Anglia and Yorkshire.
“Elsewhere, dazzling winter sunshine but temperatures will struggle in parts of Scotland and the North East. Not much above freezing and frosty all day.”
She finished: “A little breezy out to the north and to the east but we’ve got that beautiful blue sky. A very different day further west, the winds whipping up and the rain heading in after dark. And it’s staying quite blustery into Thursday, a little milder but the sunshine is in short supply with more rain to come.”
