Lynn Shelton has died unexpectedly due to a previously unidentified blood disorder. Her partner confirmed the director’s death at 54 in a heartbreaking statement yesterday.
On May 16, Lynn’s partner Marc Maron told Indie Wire: “I have some awful news. Lynn passed away last night.”
“She collapsed yesterday morning after having been ill for a week. There was a previously unknown, underlying condition.”
Confirming the film and TV star’s death was not related to the coronavirus, he went on to say: “It was not COVID-19.”
“The doctors could not save her. They tried. Hard.”
Devastated Marc, 56, told the publication that he was in complete shock at the news.
“I loved her very much as I know many of you did as well. It’s devastating. I am leveled, heartbroken and in complete shock and don’t really know how to move forward in this moment,” he said.
“She was a beautiful, kind, loving, charismatic artist. Her spirit was pure joy.
“We were starting a life together. I really can’t believe what is happening. This is a horrendous, sad loss.”
According to the statement Lynn had been ill for a week prior to her death.
Lynn leaves behind her son, Milo, from her marriage to actor and comedian Kevin Seal which ended in 2019, and partner, Marc Maron.
