Jean Clair Todibo to Everton

Everton are ‘close’ to signing Barcelona defender Jean Clair Todibo.

Todibo, 20, joined Schalke on loan in January for the remainder of the season but financial impact of the coronavirus will leave the Bundesliga side unable to exercise their £21million purchase option.

Now, Spanish website Sport claim Everton are favourites to secure his signature.

It’s said Barcelona are currently negotiating with the Premier League side, who are prepared to pay £17m plus a further £4m in add-ons for the French centre-back.

Sport continue to claim that Everton made contact weeks ago and the good relation ship between the two clubs could see a resolution in ‘the coming days.’

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang latest

Arsenal have held no discussions with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as of yet regarding an extension to his current contract, which expires in the summer of 2021.

The initial contract Aubameyang signed was a three-and-a-half year deal, but Arsenal are approaching a key point in negotiations with this summer being the second to last transfer window before potentially losing the striker for free.

The uncertainty around his future though has led to some of Europe’s elite clubs keeping a close eye on his situation with Barcelona and Chelsea both showing interest.

Express Sport understands the Gunners are prepared to listen to offers of around £56million for Aubameyang.

And Football London report Arsenal are still yet to hold any discussions with Aubameyang over signing an extension.

Thomas Partey unhappy

Thomas Partey is unhappy with the contract offer put on the table by Atletico Madrid and the defensive midfielder has held talks with Arsenal about a summer move, according to Ghanaian journalist Rahman Osman.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made the 26-year-old a top target, with Partey available at around £43million due to a release clause in his contract.

With Atletico keen to keep the Ghana international, they have tabled an offer of a new deal which reports have claimed would double his wages from £65,000 a week to £130,000 a week.

Osman told The AFC Bell: “I do not know the smallest details in the contract submitted by Atletico Madrid, but the description that I received from my sources stated that it did not meet the aspirations of the player and his team.

“This offer is ‘rubbish’ and therefore the player did not sign it. I contacted Thomas’ father and the quotes are real. He said that on the radio but was not authorised to publish those details.”

Houssem Aouar verdict

Lyon would be prepared to sell sought-after midfielder Houssem Aouar.

That’s according to the Ligue 1 club’s CEO Jean-Michel Aulas, who says Lyon would never keep a player against their will providing their valuation is met.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with the talented Frenchman, who has scored 24 goals and provided 24 assists in 133 appearances for Lyon.

“The player’s opinion is always essential. Keeping a player against their will is not reasonable,” Aulas said.

“Houssem has not expressed the desire to leave. ‘Our will is to try to keep him even if the demands are high. There is no negotiation in progress.”

Carlo Ancelotti targets

Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez is Carlo Ancelotti’s priority target in the upcoming transfer window.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claims Everton have offered the Colombia international a four-year deal to lure him to Goodison Park.

It’s said the Toffees have other targets in mind should they failed to land Rodriguez with Philippe Coutinho and Napoli’s Hirving Lozano also being monitored.

“Carlo Ancelotti’s first choice is always James Rodriguez,” Schira tweeted. “Everton have offered a 4-years contract to the Colombian player, who’ll leave Real Madrid in the next months. Coutinho (also Tottenham and Chelsea are interested) and Lozano are the plans B for Toffees.”

Lautaro Martinez advice

Fabio Capello believes striker Lautaro Martinez should stay at Inter Milan.

And that, according to Capello, is because the Argentine forward would not be guaranteed to start at Barcelona.

The Spanish champions are said to be readying a contract worth £173,000-a-week at the Nou Camp and have made him their priority signing in the upcoming transfer window.

“If I were him, I would stay at Inter, because at Barca he would be a substitute,” Capello told Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dani Ceballos latest

Dani Ceballos hasn’t spoken to Zinedine Zidane since leaving Real Madrid.

The Spanish midfielder joined Arsenal on a season-long loan and despite the lack of communication with Zidane – Ceballos hopes to play for the Spanish giants in the future.

“I haven’t spoken to Zidane since I left,” Ceballos told Movistar. “It has to be difficult to have a dressing room with so many players. I don’t think Zidane talks to the loan players.”

“Hopefully [I will play for Real Madrid again]. I now have a contract with Arsenal. At the moment in Madrid it is difficult to play with the players that are there. Now I am focused on being important at a club.”

Mohammed Salisu to Man Utd

Manchester United are in the running to sign Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu, Spanish newspaper AS claim.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for a new centre-back to partner Harry Maguire next season and has identified Salisu as a potential addition.

Salisu, 21, has a £10.5million release clause in his contract, which is due to expire in June 2022.

United have dispatched scouts to monitor the Ghanaian defender in the past and could take advantage of the fact he’s represented by Juan Mata’s father.

Andre Onana decision

Chelsea have suffered a blow in the chase for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Frank Lampard is interested in signing the 24-year-old shot stopper but a return to Barcelona appears to be on the cards.

Onana set tongues wagging by posting what appeared to be a goodbye message to Ajax fans after it was confirmed the Eredivisie season had been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He wrote on Instagram: “This journey ends with an empty stadium, but full of pride and satisfaction. Thanks for all the love and support.”

According to Sport, he has decided to wait for Barcelona, despite the mounting interest in his services, with Paris Saint-Germain also keen.

Gonzalo Higuain plan

Gonzalo Higuain will honour his contract with Juventus.

That’s according to his father, who has dismissed claims the Argentine international wants to leave Turin for a potential return to River Plate.

“Everything that’s been said about Gonzalo isn’t true,” Higuain’s father, Jorge, told LM Nequen. “I can tell you one thing: Gonzalo will stay with Juventus because he still has a year and a half left on his contract and he’ll respect it. He’ll see out his current contract.

“In 18 months, Gonzalo will decide what to do because he will be the master of his own destiny.”

AVB not coming back

Andre Villas-Boas says he’ll never manage in the Premier League again.

The former Tottenham and Chelsea manager doesn’t think the English top-flight suits his philosophy or style of football.

“I will not go back there. It is the championship with the most investment, the best players and teams,” Villas-Boas told Portuguese radio station Radio Renascenca.

“But, I like being in a league that includes different game philosophy. This is not the case in England.”

Kai Havertz plan

Chelsea have no “imminent” plans to sign Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona would be prepared to accept a significant loss on Coutinho with a fee between £50m-£70million reported to be enough to seal his signature.

But The Athletic points out that cost would still put Chelsea off as they’re not prepared to pay close to a club-record fee.

Instead, it is said Chelsea are far more interested in going after the highly-rated Kai Havertz, who they have been scouting on a regular basis.

Willian to Arsenal

Arsenal are favourites to sign Chelsea star Willian.

Willian, 31, is expected to leave Stamford Bridge when his contract expires in June having scored 59 goals and provided 59 assists in 329 appearances for the club.

The Brazil international is unlikely to sign an extension with the club and will become a free agent.

There’s plenty of interest in the attacking star with Barcelona, Corinthians, Liverpool and Arsenal all looking to secure his signature.

And ESPN commentator Jorge Nicola thinks the latter are the most likely destination.

Federico Chiesa pursuit

Manchester United are still in with a shout of signing Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa.

Chiesa, 22, is expected to leave Fiorentina after four profitable seasons and Juventus are considered the leading contenders to secure his signature.

United, Chelsea and Inter Milan are also thought to be interested in the Italy international, who has scored 29 goals and provided 20 assists in 139 appearances for Fiorentina.

Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness suggest the player and his family are eager to stay in Italy but a lucrative contract offer from the Red Devils could force the winger to ‘rethink’ his next destination.

Lionel Messi wants Philippe Coutinho

Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to keep Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian playmaker, 27, has been tipped to leave the Nou Camp having failed to justify his £142million move from Liverpool in 2018.

Chelsea, Everton, Leicester and Newcastle have all been linked with his services after reports Bayern Munich have decided NOT to make his loan spell permanent.

However, The Athletic claim Messi disagrees with Barcelona’s stance on Coutinho and would rather attacker Ousmane Dembele was sold instead.

Jadon Sancho latest

Borussia Dortmund are ‘totally relaxed’ about the situation surrounding Manchester United target Jadon Sancho.

Sancho, who is reportedly valued at £120million, is at the top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward’s wishlist in the upcoming transfer window.

But Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insists there has been no developments.

“There is no new status,” Zorc told Sport1. “At the moment, all clubs are running on sight – even in England! I can’t and don’t want to go too far out of the window with forecasts because the situation is changing daily.

“We will see what happens. We have a long-term contract with Jadon Sancho. This will not change now. We are totally relaxed about it.”

Victor Osimhen to Liverpool

Liverpool are looking to sign Lille striker Victor Osimhen.

That’s according to French publication Le10sport, who claim the Premier League leaders have opened discussions with Osimhen’s representatives.

It’s believed Jurgen Klopp’s side are ‘laying the foundations’ for an opening contract proposal that could see the eight-capped Nigeria international arrive at Anfield this summer.

Le10sport also suggest Manchester United and Chelsea are set to battle it out for the 21-year-old forward, who is expected to cost around £70million.

Omari Forson contract

Omari Forson is set to sign his first professional contract with Manchester United.

The 15-year-old midfielder arrived at Old Trafford from Tottenham last year and is considered one of the club’s most exciting prospects.

His exploits playing for United’s Under-18 side have attracted interest from Arsenal in recent months.

But the Daily Mail claim United have successfully ‘fended off interest’ from the north London side and that Forson is ‘ready to commit his future’ to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side by agreeing a professional contract.

Adrien Rabiot to Chelsea

Chelsea are considering a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot, 25, joined Juventus on a free transfer after allowing his Paris Saint-Germain contract to expire in June 2019.

The six-capped France international has completed just eight 90-minute Serie A fixtures this season and reportedly earns £225,000-a-week at the San Siro – £75k more than Chelsea’s highest earners Kepa Arrizabalaga and N’Golo Kante.

And Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb suggests Chelsea are interested in a move and would consider requesting him in exchange for Maurizio Sarri target Emerson Palmieri.

Wanted: Kays Ruiz-Atil

Chelsea are still in contact with Paris Saint-Germain talent Kays Ruiz-Atil.

That’s according to French newspaper L’Équipe, who claim the teenager’s family are waiting on a ‘firm sign’ from the Premier League club.

The Blues were first linked with Ruiz-Atil, who’s been dubbed the ‘next Lionel Messi’, in January but a deal failed to materialise.

L’Équipe claim talks are still ongoing for the 17-year-old, who has also held discussions with Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille.

The 17-year-old can operate in central midfield, on the left wing or as an outright striker and expects to be training with the senior side next season.
