Josh King sale

Bournemouth are likely to entertain offers for Josh King this summer, but Wales star David Brooks is going nowhere, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United tried to sign King, 28, during the January transfer window but opted for Odion Ighalo on a six-month loan instead.

Eddie Howe’s side are expected to sell the Norwegian international rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.

The MEN claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. are also considering Brooks as a cheaper alternative should they not manage to get a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho over the line.

Timo Werner to Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are a better fit than Liverpool for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, according to Dimitar Berbatov.

The sought-after Germany international is on the radar of several European sides, all looking to trigger his relatively low £51million release clause.

But Berbatov thinks he should continue in the Bundesliga rather than trying to adjust to Premier League football.

“To be honest, it [Bayern Munich] looks like a sensible move for Timo Werner, he knows the league, they know him there, he can get used to his surroundings a lot easier,” Berbatov told Betfair. “It makes more sense for him to go there than move to England where it will probably take him a bit more time to adjust to things.

“I don’t think Liverpool will miss out if he doesn’t move to Merseyside, their front three are so good. I don’t see many players coming close to them at the moment, the way they link up, the way they switch positions is so phenomenal. It’s hard to see someone else fitting in the way they do.”

Odsonne Edouard not PEA replacement

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is NOT a suitable replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

That’s according to Charlie Nicholas, who says Edouard “would not be the answer” should Aubameyang’s contract dispute continue and the Gunners have to sell.

“There’s been a lot of talk of Aubameyang being sold, but Edouard would not be the answer,” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “He plays differently, more like Alexandre Lacazette.

“He wants to be the key figurehead of the team as the link man through the middle. For that reason, I do not see Arsenal targeting him as a replacement for Aubameyang.”

Manchester United have also been linked with the 22-year-old forward.

Theo Hernandez scrap

Defender Theo Hernandez could be available this summer.

Spanish newspaper Marca claim AC Milan are ‘preparing to receive’ offers for the talented left-back, who is attracting interest from across Europe.

The attacking Frenchman has enjoyed an excellent debut campaign with AC Milan having arrived from Real Madrid in July in a deal worth £17.5million – scoring six goals and providing two assists in 25 appearances.

Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG are among the clubs that could be interested in the full-back.

Jadon Sancho to Manchester United

Jadon Sancho finds the prospect of joining Manchester United as their ‘leading star’ extremely appealing.

That’s according to German journalist Raphael Honigstein, who claims the 20-year-old winger could be tempted by a switch to Old Trafford despite their inability to guarantee immediate Premier League silverware.

“Manchester United can’t promise titles to Jadon Sancho straight away,” Honigstein told The Athletic’s Steilcast podcast. “But they can promise him to be the leading star in a new team that is emerging. From what I’ve been told that is quite appealing to him.”

Sancho has been in fantastic form this season having scored 17 goals and has provided 19 assists in 35 appearances for the Bundesliga club – and is valued at £120million.

Matthijs De Ligt blocked

Juventus are looking to offload several players this summer but defender Matthijs De Ligt isn’t one of them.

Manchester United and Real Madrid have been tipped to launch an offer for the former Ajax centre-back, who arrived in Turin for an initial £67.5million in July 2019.

Italian website Calciomercato claim Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is prepared to listen to offers for Douglas Costa, Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic and Adrien Rabiot.

But two players are ‘blocked’ from leaving and they are De Ligt and forward Paulo Dybala, who is close to signing a contract extension.

Wanted: Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona are edging closer to the signing of Lautaro Martinez.

That’s according to newspaper Marca, who claim the Argentine forward is reluctant to sign a new contract with Inter Milan despite their best efforts.

Martinez, 22, is aware of Barcelona’s interest and would reportedly find it ‘enticing’ to play alongside Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp.

The Spanish champions haven’t lodged an official offer because they fear sparking a bidding war throughout Europe with Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG all monitoring his situation.

However, Barcelona believe interest from their two primary rivals Real Madrid and Manchester City has no ‘cooled’ with Zinedine Zidane’s side more interested in Erling Haaland.

Houssem Aouar interest

Three Premier League clubs are looking to snatch the services of Lyon star Houssem Aouar.

Aouar, 21, is considered one of the most exciting talents in European football having already amassed 97 Ligue 1 appearances – scoring 16 goals and providing the same number of assists.

His displays have caught the attention of Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool, who are all reportedly ‘stepping up’ their efforts to sign him.

The Sun say Jurgen Klopp’s side have already held talks to discuss a £65million transfer and claim Mikel Arteta’s side will find it difficult with their lower budget.

Jerome Boateng battle

Chelsea could become embroiled in a transfer battle with Arsenal to sign Jerome Boateng, according to reports.

The Blues are looking to add defensive reinforcements during the summer and have identified the Bayern Munich ace as a potential new arrival.

However, Chelsea have a fight on their hands to snap up the World Cup winner with Arsenal also reigniting their interest in the 31-year-old.

Boateng has been a rotation option for Bayern this season but could be allowed to leave at the end of the current campaign, according to FootMercato.

The veteran centre-back is out of contract in 2021 and the latest report indicates Chelsea and Arsenal are two of several sides potentially interested.
