TV star Martin Lewis has revealed that he isn’t able to be with his wife in hospital today as she undergoes shoulder surgery. The 48-year-old financial journalist said it felt “strange” to be heading to work as normal as his spouse – Lara Lewington – headed for surgery on her own.
Martin spoke about the difficult situation on Twitter.
He wrote online, in view of his one million followers: “Strange leaving home today to walk to the studio, as Mrs MSE (@LaraLewington) is off to hospital for a shoulder op.”
The television host continued: “I’m not allowed to go with her in current climes, but ‘ll race from the studio tonight to pick her up (luckily it coincides with release time) happy & healthy I hope.”
“Not easy Martin. Very strange and worrying times,” one follower wrote in the comments section of the post.

A third social media user added: “Hope all goes well and safely for Lara on the operation and for Martin on the show.”
The father-of-one’s programme, The Martin Lewis Money Show: Live is on air tonight at 8.30pm.
