Additionally, the “no hassle” countries further afield which made the list are:
- British Antarctic Territory
- San Marino
- South Georgia
- South Sandwich Islands
The listed countries do not include those which are listed in the Association of British Travel Agents top travel destinations.
Of the most popular travel hotspots, Spain, is considered a relatively low hassle destination for all UK nationals except Scotland, where quarantine-free travel is currently not permitted.
France, Greece, Switzerland, Croatia, The Netherlands, Turkey, Italy and Germany are also listed as being “low hassle” destinations.
At the time of writing, the FCO is currently no longer advising against “non-essential travel” to any of the above regions.
The MSE team further identified some “low hassle” countries which are “exempt from FCO advice against ‘all but essential’ international travel, but NOT exempt from the Department for Transport’s travel corridor list, requiring a 14-day quarantine when returning to England or Wales”.
Some of the countries on the list may also require UK tourists to quarantine on arrival.
EU countries include Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia.
Meanwhile, non-EU countries include Brunei, Malaysia, Martinique, Singapore, Thailand, Wallis and Futuna.
