McDonald’s responded that the company will reopen Monday after an April dumb prank.
The company is among thousands of businesses to shut their doors after the coronavirus pandemic in the UK.
The video, posted on Twitter, said fast food fans pumping pulses as it said the giant will reopen Monday restaurants.
The deceptive hoax message read: “We are opened again! On Monday April 6th, Mc Donald’s agreed to reopen its UK stores. Both outlets would now be able to give drive thru or take away.
“We would like to thank our staff for deciding to service you again. Floor guides are now activated and we still have a maximum of two customers inside each store.” We would continue to track the situation but look forward to having you back for now. “However, it has now been apparent that the message was just an April Fool’s, and McDonald’s announced that it is not reopening.
A message from McDonald’s official Twitter page cleared the entire mess up.
It read: “Lots of people get in contact with a certain article that circulates tonight.” It’s bogus, we’re not
reopening next week so all official news should come from this page so spell the brand name correctly ….
No, this isn’t an April Fools’ Day joke. Walk in or visit the drive-thru to get a small #FreeCoffee during breakfast until 4/13. Go. Now.
