The startling claim was made by MSNBC Morning Joe presenter Mika Brzezinski as he also claimed Melania Trump was only staying in the First Lady role “for her son Barron”. The presenter said: “I haven’t talked to her in months, but if my gut is right, I don’t think she’s going to put up with it much longer. “I know nothing. That’s just my instinct and I go with my gut and my gut’s always right.” The comments came amid speculation about her marriage to US President Donald Trump. While the First Lady usually remains coy about issues regarding her personal life, she issued a defiant response to the comments in the 2017 row.
Her press office said: “It is sad when people try to further their own agenda by commenting on me and my family, especially when they don’t know me.”
Donald Trump himself also hit out at the claims in a series of furious tweets.
The US President said: “I heard poorly rated Morning Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore).
“Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me.
“She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”

Melania is to make an address tonight at the Republican National Convention ahead of her husband’s campaign for a second term as President.
After 2016’s address Melania came under fire for making a speech remarkably similar to one made by Michelle Obama.
A spokesperson for the First Lady has said ahead of tonight’s speech that “every word” will be her own this time.

They said: “I think that it’s been very, very clear that over the last three and a half years, Mrs Trump has done nothing but learn and grow in this role and she’s been doing a fantastic job at that.
“We have been working really hard the last three weeks. I can tell you that every word in the speech is from her. It’s very authentic and it’s going to come from the heart.”
