According to the MailOnline, the police officer who was injured yesterday at the Black Lives Matter protests has suffered a collar bone, broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The Metropolitan Police Federation has said that the officer is receiving treatment in hospital but is unlikely to be back at work for four months.
The police officer was hurled into the traffic lights outside Downing Street after a protester threw a bike and other missiles at the horse.
The horse then ran riderless down Whitehall.
Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, Cressida Dick, has condemned the violence shows towards police at the protests.
She said: “I am deeply saddened and depressed that a minority of protesters became violent towards officers in central London yesterday evening.
Protesters are set to gather at the US embassy at 2pm today for more demonstrations.
Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow are also set to see protests.
