Sir Mick Jagger, 76, has taken to his Instagram page to share a memory of his friendship with photographer Peter Beard, who has died aged 82. In view of his 1.9 million followers, he wrote: “Sad to hear my dear friend Peter Beard has died, he was a visionary artist and photographer, who wasn’t afraid to take risks.
“My thoughts are with his wife Nejma and daughter Zara.”
Peter, who had dementia, had been reported missing nearly three weeks prior to being found dead.
His family said in a statement: “We are all heartbroken by the confirmation of our beloved Peter’s death.
“Peter was an extraordinary man who led an exceptional life. He lived life to the fullest; he squeezed every drop out of every day.’

East Hampton police had described him as “vulnerable” and potentially in need of medical attention in his missing alert profile.
The photographer was widely known for his African wildlife and fashion photography and his close friendship with Andy Warhol.
He was also behind several professional photos of Mick and his ex-wife Bianca.
As well as this, he appeared in several documentaries, including Beautiful Darling in 2010 and With Peter Beard in Africa: Last Word from Paradise in 1988.
