Mike Tyson is hoping to continue fighting after his showdown with Roy Jones Jr next month, his trainer Rafael Cordeiro has revealed.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world will take on the pound-for-pound great in an exhibition match on November 28, with the proceeds from their clash going to charity.

Tyson, 54, has well and truly had his competitive fire re-lit in his preparations for the former four-weight world champion and has openly discussed the possibility of taking part in more exhibition bouts.

Cordeiro has seen that fire first hand and recently revealed ‘Iron Mike’ is hoping to have three more exhibitions “against big names”.

The legendary mixed martial arts coach’s latest comments on Tyson’s future after his clash with Jones Jr directly contrast those he made in the summer.

“I don’t know,” the Brazilian admitted to ESPN when asked if Tyson wanted to continue fighting after his bout with Jones Jr. “But I can tell you; if he wants to do something in the future, he is going to be ready to do that – 100%.

“I don’t want to say too much because it’s Tyson man. We can’t play with this guy.”

Tyson retired from boxing in 2006 after suffering back-to-back losses to Danny Williams and Kevin McBride.

Despite his long absence from the ring and lengthy training hiatus, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ blew away Cordeiro with his speed and ferociousness during their first training session.

“As soon as we started training I said ‘My Lord’”, the Chute Box legend said. “I didn’t know what to expect from a guy who hasn’t hit mitts for – I think – almost ten years.

“So I didn’t expect to see what I saw – I saw a guy with the same speed, the same power as a guy who is 21, 22-years-old.

“And I can tell; you would have to be a good guy to spar with Mike, because if you don’t prepare, he is going to drop you for sure – 100%.

“The power is different level. I have trained a lot of heavyweights in my career, with not a lot of respect for everybody, but he is almost as powerful as Wanderlei Silva is right now.

“When you talk about power, I held his right hook and thought ‘he is going to kill somebody’.”
