Miriam Margoyles sparks hundreds of complaints over Boris remark ‘I wanted him to die'

She quickly explained: “Appalling of course. Appalling, it’s a disgrace, it’s a scandal. It’s a public scandal.

“I mean, I had difficulty not wanting Borish Johnson to die.

“I wanted him to die and then I thought, ‘That reflects badly on me’ and I don’t want to be the sort of person who wants people to die.

“So, then I wanted him to get better, which he did. He did get better but he didn’t get better as a human being and I really would prefer that.”

Adam quickly tried to move the conversation on to talk about the news that places like McDonald’s and KFC are beginning to reopen after closing down operations when the lockdown was announced.
