Morrisons click and collect food box service will run from hospital car parks to give NHS staff easy access to essential groceries. Two deliveries will be made per week, on Monday and Thursday.
The £30 box includes toilet roll, pasta, rice, soup, tinned goods and some fruit and veg.
It has launched at St James’s Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary today.
Starting with NHS staff at the two Leeds hospitals, orders can be placed now via a dedicated website for staff – with collections on Monday and Thursday between 6-8am for night shifts and 4-6pm for day shifts.
The boxes are available for vegetarians or meat eaters and are priced at £30.

NHS staff will be relieved to pick up their groceries from the hospital car park, saving a trip to the shops after a long, difficult shift.
A typical box will be made up of a variety of items including; canned baked beans, soup and pasta sauce, milk, dairy products such as butter and cheese, bread, rice and pasta, vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and onions and essential household items.
The Vegetarian Food Box includes vegetarian proteins such as meat free sausages and mince. The Meat Food Box includes fresh meat such as chicken or beef.
David Potts, Morrisons Chief Executive, said: “At this important time, the National Health Service is supporting the whole country so we need to support them too.

“We will be taking this service to many more hospitals to help feed NHS staff as they face into the challenges of treating people affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic.”
The supermarket it also offering an essential service for those unable to get out for groceries.
The Morrisons food box delivery service has proven popular.
The Morrisons website states: “Our new Food Boxes are designed to provide you with everyday essentials, without needing to leave your home.
“A box contains £30 worth of groceries and we offer convenient delivery directly to your door for £5.”
For those with dietary requirements, there are options as Morrisons states: “Our boxes include a selection of everyday items based on our current availability for you and your family, including food and essential household goods.
“You can choose between a vegetarian or a meat eaters food box to suit your lifestyle.”
