When will NetherRealm release new DLC?

Mortal Combat 11 released in March last year to general acclaim from gamers, with an aggregated score of 82 on Metacritic.

Although it didn’t depart much from the game’s traditional formula, it promises to introduce a shake-up this month, with new DLC for the first time.

NetherRealm will release the DLC at the end of the month on May 26 for all platforms, and it promises to add even more meat to the game.

Firstly, the developers have scheduled an all-new single-player campaign in Aftermath.

Aftermath picks up immediately after the conclusion of the core game when antagonist Kronika lies charred at the hands of Lui Kang.

The new story follows Shang Tsung, Fujin and Nightwolf as they strive to find time-bending Kornika’s crown from the sorcerers’ island.

NetherRealm had the characters caught by the antagonist, so they were absent from the main story, and they found freedom when she died.

If the new story wasn’t enough to inspire excitement, NetherRealm has also announced three new characters.

Players can pick from wind god Fujin, Sheeva and…..Robocop.

Fujin made his first appearance in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero as a boss, and a playable character in Mortal Kombat 4.

He is the Earthrealm protecting brother of lightning-god Raiden and commands wind combined with his sword and a crossbow for attacks.

Mortal Kombat 11: Robocop has also made a surprise appearance in Mortal Kombat (Image: NETHERREALM)

Sheeva, a mainstay of Mortal Kombat 3, is the half-dragon Queen of the brawling Shokan race.

She uses her incredible strength and four arms to blitz opponents with a series of grapples.

Sheeva can use an anti-air, low and overhead grapple to put a stop to people’s combos.

She can also implement an unblockable teleport stomp.

Robocop’s last appearance was in the hit 80’s film series of the same name.

He joins a host of other Mortal Kombat guest characters such as the Joker, The Terminator and Spawn in Mortal Kombat 11.

Although odd, RoboCop promises to be a powerhouse on his own, with a selection of high-tech gear to utilise.

He fights with the iconic Auto 9 pistol, a flamethrower, riot shield and shoulder cannon amongst others.
