The BBC Breakfast presenters we all know and love aren’t impartial to a few swap arounds now and again. Usually partnered up on the iconic red sofa are Dan Walker and Louise Minchin, who present the show from Monday through to Wednesday when Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt take over and front the program at the end of the week.
But to fan’s surprise, Louise was replaced by Naga on Tuesday morning.
One viewer shared their delight on Twitter that Dan and Naga were working together again: “#BBCBreakfast it’s good to see @TVNaga01 and @mrdanwalker on the sofa together. Why have you not been working together?”
Dan cheekily replied to the question, joking that the reason behind it was because Naga “refused” to work at the beginning of the week.
“Because Naga refuses to work on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday,” he responded to the fan.
“She’s very precious #BBCBreakfast,” he added with a stream of laughing faces, reassuring those who might criticise his tone that he was joking.
Viewers took to the comments section to welcome her surprise appearance and commend the “banter” between the pair, with one saying: “Feels like your cheating on Louise, but do love Naga, she keeps you on yr toes.”(sic)
“It’s my day off. Oh nooo where is Louise. Good banter between yourself & Naga,” said another.
A third exclaimed: “Lovely surprise to wake up to @TVNaga01 this morning, just what the Doctor ordered.”
Someone else giggled: “@mrdanwalker think you might pay for that remark!!! Come on @naga don’t let me down.”
And sure enough, the BBC presenter soon piped up: “My Mun told me I’m precious – I listen to my Mum,”(sic) she said, laughing at Dan’s little joke.
And she had some good news on the way for her fans, revealing she would be presenting the show for the rest of the week.
Viewers continued to share their excitement that she would be greeting them in the mornings, complimenting her style and broadcasting approach.
Replying to Dan’s comments, one fan noted: “Maybe so but if I was in trouble I would rather she was standing beside me rather than facing me. One strong lady!”
“I like all the presenters. But @TVNaga01 is my fav as she is mischievous,”(sic) said another.
Others branded her “feisty”, a term that could be quite fitting as she openly admits she can come across a little intimidating from time to time, especially when it comes to sport.
Naga revealed she is extremely competitive, so much so, that she’s been “told off” for her behaviour on the golf course in the past and people were “scared” of playing with her.
While speaking to Louise Minchin and Annie Emmerson on their Her Spirit podcast, the 45-year-old confessed that she has a temper but only directs it at others when necessary.

She explained she had to adopt a mantra to calm herself down while playing a round, using the phrase “it will come” when things don’t go her way.
“I used to karate kick my bag, the air would be more than blue when I tread,” she recalled past experiences when she lost her cool.
Among other violent attacks on her belongings, she also admitted that the outbursts would happen so often that she found throwing her clubs in specific ways would allow her to avoid doing the “walk of shame” to pick them up.
“I’ve kicked over my golf bag numerous times, sworn, I’ve been told off for my behaviour on the course,” she giggled.
“I had a reputation that people would be scared of playing with me, but my temper would be directed at me, no one else.”
