UPDATE: In a new update from the 2K support team, it has been confirmed that none of the missing NBA 2K21 VC pre-order rewards will be lost for those who have yet to receive them.
The latest message on the subject comes directly from 2K and covers gamers across PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
The message reads: “We are aware some of you are not getting your bonus content and VC purchases. These are not lost and this should be resolved over the next few hours.”
ORIGINAL: NBA 2K21 is releasing today and there has been a lot of interest in the new Basketball game launch across PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The good news is that most people have access to game servers following some early wobbles. However, the 2K support team have warned that problems could continue through the first day, telling gamers online:
“Please be aware that there will be high traffic on the NBA 2K21 servers for the first day, due to launch. There may be some connection issues while everyone’s attempting to get in. Thank you.”
And as you might expect with such a big release, there will probably be a chunky download coming our way when the first NBA 2K21 update is released.
Some gamers are already flagging problems in-game with the NBA 2K21 VC system.
For those who are new to the NBA 2K series, VC stands for Virtual Currency, which can be used and earned throughout the various game modes in NBA 2K21 to spend on a wide variety of content.
VC is spent within the game store, on things like MyPLAYER attributes, virtual goods (such as uniforms and equipment), apparel, and animation packages that grant your character new moves to perform.
2K gamers can earn VC by playing online matches or progressing through the MyCAREER mode via the internet.
It’s a big part of the game and has a large impact across many of NBA 2K’s most popular modes.
