Polish film 365 DNI, also known as 365 Days, landed on Netflix in the UK and the US this week, and viewers have been left gobsmacked by the graphic and uber-realistic sex scenes.
The movie, based on a novel, features kinky sex scenes, BDSM and voyeurism and viewers have been convinced that the actors involved are actually having sex as it is so graphic.
Some viewers have been comparing it to erotic novel and movie series 50 Shades of Grey – though saying 365 DNI is much, much raunchier.
One viewer tweeted: “50 Shades of Grey has nothing on 365 DNI.”
Another said: “Honestly how Netflix approved that pornographic film called 365 DNI is beyond me. 10 minutes and my eyes.”
A third wrote: “If anyone is a Fifty Shades fans they need to watch 365 DNI… I’m sweating.”
However, others were left less than impressed as the sex scenes were so graphic and coercion and harassment were frequent themes throughout.
A viewer said: “Sure the sex scenes are great and very intimate, but all of those happened after a few sexual harassment and uncomfortable scenarios. I mean – stop comparing it to Fifty Shades of Grey.”
And someone else tweeted: “Clearly, Fifth Shades of Grey stated that Grey was under a mental instability and Massimo was never considered problematic in the film, despite his anger issues.”
The film is an adaptation of a book of the same name, written by Blanka Lipińska.
It follows Laura, a sales director at a luxury hotel in Poland, and Massimo, a handsome leader of the Sicilian mafia.
Massimo kidnaps Laura and is told she must fall in love with him within 365 days.
Viewers have gone on to label the storyline as Stockholm Syndrome, as Laura’s relationship with Massimo is so forced and inorganic.
