NickEh30’s unfortunate encounter with a stream sniper was caught live on stream, sparks anti-stream sniping suggestions

Nicholas “NickEh30” Amyoony is an undoubtedly elite content creator that also dabbles in the competitive side of the community. NickEh30 received a string of good fortune after Epic Games collaborated with him to bring the “NickEh30 bundle” – a skin combo that features his favorite skins

In addition to the bundle, Fortnite brought forward the “NickEh30 Cup.” The tournament boasted a $ 10,000 prize pool and featured the NickEh30’s favorite format, solos

The event took place in two stages, open and finals. 99 players joined NickEh30 who automatically qualified for finals. NickEh30 was able to spectate the open stage and was impressed with how stacked an open tournament was

“The high point end-games are stacked for an open qualifier! Hope you guys are liking the format,” he wrote on Twitter

In the finals, Nick scored 42 points in the placement heavy format to get 75th place. In a lobby full of 99 pros, that’s a solid score

The problem arises late into the finals when a stream sniper took advantage of Nick’s public drop spot. The stream sniper was dumb enough to stream the event on his Twitch page where he was well aware of who he was landing on

It’s quite obvious that the only reason Nick’s stream sniper lands at the shadow lair is because he was at the bottom of the leaderboard and had nothing to lose. He got his 15 minutes of fame, and potentially a lifetime of hate

The community as a whole acknowledges how much of a wholesome character NickEh30 is and agrees how unfortunate of a situation this is

The tournament is meant to celebrate all of Nick’s accomplishments – from recently getting signed to Luminosity to huge content creation milestones. Players like these only serve ruin streamer’s broadcasts

Epic Games was swift to take action and temporarily ban the stream sniper

Discount Nickmercs over here only got a 1 day ban, most likely due to the fact that this is his first offense. I personally think these actions should have more severe consequences to deter the behaviour from ever happening again

At the end of the day, harsher action towards stream snipers is the only foolproof way to make it go away. With the finals typically consisting of one single lobby, stream sniping has become exponentially easier

It’s unreasonable to ask Nick or any other streamer to land at random drop spots and set long delays just to not get sniped. Fortnite needs to take more decisive action in order to curb unwanted behaviour once and for all
