The fifth season of Outlander is loosely following the storyline in Diana Gabaldon’s book The Fiery Cross.
The series has largely focussed on Jamie (Sam Heughan) and his relationship with his uncle but it seems Claire will be pushed to the forefront next.
One storyline which comes at the end of The Fiery Cross and A Breath of Snow and Ashes sees Claire kidnapped by Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy).
He was seen in the seventh episode and according to IMDb is set to return for the final episodes.

It seems this storyline will put pressure on Claire and Jamie’s relationship despite the many obstacles they’ve had to face already.
Both Claire and Jamie have been sexually assaulted on the show before but actor Sam has hinted this storyline will take more of a toll on the couple.
“Jamie and Claire’s love is never an issue, but by the end of this season – without giving anything away – their love is called into question in a different way,” he added to the publication.
