With a premiere date penned on Starz for Sunday, February 16, Outlander fans are scouring the web for spoilers and theories to find out what could be on the way. Now, actor Sam has dropped one of the biggest clues about the new season so far.
While the action-packed promo has teased what drama is on its way, Starz is keeping Outlander spoilers well under wraps.
Some clues may be found from the books written by Diana Gabaldon, but the show is no stranger to veering away from its source material.
Therefore, who knows what to expect in the fifth season of the drama?
Well, besides the fact Jamie will be donning the dreaded redcoat during the American Revolution, Sam has revealed another huge storyline is on the way.

The Outlander star continued: “Obviously the first episode we are established (at) Fraser’s Ridge in America, North Carolina.
“The settlement is flourishing and the family is as well. We get to see this amazing wedding.
“But having said that, there is also this mounting pressure from the British and the lead into their revolutionary war, the War of Independence.
“They’re sort of playing both sides, well Jamie Fraser’s playing both sides, so there’s the good and the bad.”
