Phillip Schofield in cheeky remark to Phil Vickery after Fern Britton split: 'Have to say'

It comes as This Morning shared a video of Phil demonstrating how to prepare a fresh loaf of focaccia.

As Phil began preparing his bread, he stated: “Now you push, once it’s proofed, right down… you see that?,” which led Holly to interject: “Oh, I bet that feels quite nice!”

Phil went on to admit: “Oh it’s beautiful, I have to say!,” which left the three presenters in hysterics.

After the cook tried to gather himself, he laughed: “Actually, before you said that I was thinking, ‘Oh, that’s nice!'”

As Phil continued his segment, Phillip added: “Well, you’ve been alone for a long time!”

Shortly afterwards, Phil quickly asked: “Actually, Holly do you want to go?,” to which she replied: “You’re alright!”

The ITV star went on to say: “I’ll just do that again for you.”

After This Morning tweeted the short clip, many fans of the programme mentioned how the video was an example of “brilliant TV”.

Phillip’s comments come after Phil separated from former This Morning host Fern Britton in January after their 20 years together.

Fern announced their news in view of her 75,000 Twitter followers by writing: “After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways.

“We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children.

“We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thank you for your continued kindness and support.”

The couple, who share their daughter, Winnie, 18, together, decided to separate after two decades together, but have not commented on getting divorced.

Meanwhile, Fern spoke to Lorraine Kelly on Good Morning Britain in June about the separation and admitted she and Phil “fell apart”.

The presenter discussed: “Unfortunately, Phil and I fell apart. And I had this book to write and get it out on the deadline.

“And once all that was done, lockdown happened and it’s like three months of… I needed that rest, you know?”
