Piers Morgan came under fire once again, as he jumped to the defence of his friend Donald Trump. Snapping at a disgruntled fan, he put his cards on the table and explained why the President is “so popular” as he mocked their reposnse.
Piers took to his social media page to congratulate the US President on his “funny and charming” impeachment appeal speech earlier this week, that saw him acquitted of any wrong doings.
And, as expected, the Good Morning Britain host’s followers had a few things to say about it.
In his original tweet, he penned: “CNN pundits condemning Trump’s speech as ‘mean, vicious, vindictive, dark, poisonous’ etc.
“But it was also funny & charming in parts, highly entertaining throughout, & he was ferociously loyalty to those loyal to him. To understand his appeal, you can’t ignore that side of him,” he wrote.

He was hit with an abundance of messages from non-Trump supporters blasting him over his comments, but one reply provoked Piers to respond.
One of his followers wrote: “Really? The man is an idiot and a danger to everything on this planet.
“There’s nothing funny or charming about him,” they retorted.
But the outspoken presenter was quick to snap back.
“Actually, there is,” he argued.
“And that’s why he’s so popular.”
Another said: “Popular because he plays to everyone’s inner racism which people are too scared to voice, same with Brexit.”
“He’s popular with complete a*******s. You’re a prime example,” a third got personal with the ITV presenter.
A fourth sighed: “For once Piers you are wrong this apology for a human being is despicable.”
Piers has ruffled a fair few feathers in the past due to his friendship with Trump.
