Piers Morgan, 55, was absent from Good Morning Britain today, but he was able to speak with Kate Garraway, 53, face-to-face away from the show as the latter made her first appearance on ITV for over 10 weeks. The mother-of-two spoke with Ben Shephard, 45, and Ranvir Singh, 42, as she opened up about the latest updates on her spouse’s condition after Derek, 52, was admitted to hospital with coronavirus at the end of March. As well as getting emotional as the future looks uncertain for her other half, the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star revealed what her colleague and the programme’s flagship journalist told her when he made contact with her in the midst of her family’s ordeal.
Since their colleague’s husband was admitted to hospital and put in a coma, the likes of Piers have been offering viewers of the ITV show updates on Derek.
Every time the hosts have spoken about Kate, they could be seen getting very emotional as they shared their friend’s pain.
Off-air, many of the presenters have been getting in contact with the mother-of-two and helping her through this unprecedented time.
The Life Stories presenter has been one of the famous faces getting in touch, offering advice to try and boost her morale.
Speaking this morning, Kate revealed the stern words he had given her, telling Derek’s wife “This was the story of your life.”
