PS Plus January free games reveal starts with 2020 PS4 news fans will love or hate 1

It could be a question of just how many first-party PS4 games you’ve played over the past few years that determines if you enjoy the latest PS Plus January 2020 reveal.

A lot of PS4 gamers will enjoy adding some classic titles to their collections, while others will be disappointed to find out they already own them.

Gamers looking for some new titles to try out will have the chance to download Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Goat Simulator very soon.

And fans are already debating the good points and bad for the latest collection of free PS4 games that have been put together for PlayStation Plus subscriber this month.

As many point out, this will be a great month for those who have never played a game featuring Nathan Drake.

The Uncharted Collection offers three games that have been remastered on the PS4 platform.

And it provides a great way for newcomers to enjoy some of the PS3’s best titles.

But for others, this month might be a bit of a yawn-fest, as one user points out online: “Four awesome games. Three of which have probably never been played by the new players to Sony’s brand — those who switched from Xbox.

“I would say this is a good month. But longtime PS players may feel disappointed because they’ve probably played these already.”

Another adds: “Ugh this is rough, I beat and own all three on PS3 and have the Collection both digital and physical.

“Then there’s Goat Simulator which I’m all set with. Two weak months in a row now and a boring start to 2020.”

The one downside to Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is that it doesn’t come with online support.

So fans of the old multiplayer modes will not get the chance to jump back into the action during January.

“From the groundbreaking storytellers at Naughty Dog, comes the genre-defining epic that revolutionised adventure storytelling, rebuilt by Bluepoint Games with the power of the PS4 system,” a message from Sony explains.

“Follow the perilous journey of Nathan Drake across the globe, from humble beginnings to extraordinary discoveries.

“Meet an unforgettable cast of characters as Drake puts life and friendship on the line in a race against ruthless enemies to uncover unimaginable treasure.

“Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection includes the single-player campaigns only for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.”

Both games will be available to download very soon, with Sony confirming the launch day being set for Tuesday, January 7.

With January’s games fast approaching, this means you only have a few days left to grab Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Game.

They’re available until Sony makes its first major PlayStation Store refresh for 2020. Sony has also confirmed that January’s PS Plus games update will be different for some PS4 owners.

According to a new post from the tech giant, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qata, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and UAE will receive Frantics in lieu of Goat Simulator.

Arcade style fun and madcap mini-games are all the rage in Frantics, where you and up to three friends have to face off in a variety of challenges.

Frantics came out in 2018 and is a PlayLink title focused on mini-games with other players.

“Frantics is all about 15 whacky mini-games for up to four players, where you’re competing in everything from frenetic action arena brawls to strategic turn based competitions.

“Exclusive to PS4, this PlayLink game challenges you to win more ‘crowns’ than your friends. Put your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controllers to the side – here you can simply use your smart device to swipe, tilt, shake, flick and snap your way to victory. Anyone can do it!

“But beware… the scheming and manipulative Fox is on hand to stir up the pot. Using bribery and relaying secret messages and missions to each player via your mobile device, you’re encouraged to sabotage and backstab your rivals at every turn.”
