PS Plus May 2020 update following new PS4 free games release 1

The good news is that PS Plus gamers will not be waiting quite so long to play the next free PS4 games as they had to in April.

The only downside is that Sony is yet ready to reveal what they have planned for next month.

PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to two new PS4 free games being released on Tuesday, May 6, 2020.

That’s still some time away, but the tech giant won’t wait until that date to reveal what these new games will be.

Instead, Sony will announce its official PS Plus May 2020 lineup on the last Wednesday of the current month, which would be April 29.

This is still expected to be the date we find out the next PS Plus games, even with the current disruption being felt globally.

And that leaves a lot of time for gamers to pick up the latest free PS4 games being offered by Sony this month.

For PS Plus gamers, this includes Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Dirt Rally 2.0, both of which will remain available to download until early May.

Details on both can be found below but it should be noted that there are other free games being offered this week that don’t require a PS Plus subscription.

Sony announced the launch of its new Play At Home Initiative this week, which provides two more games that can be downloaded for free.

This is available for everyone with a PSN account and internet access and a PS Plus subscription is not required.

The Initiative is now live and allows gamers on PS4 to download and play Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey.

It should be noted that these games are available until May 6, around the same time the new PS Plus games will be going live.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

For most of you, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will need no introduction. This three-game collection from the masters at Naughty Dog includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception—all meticulously remastered for PS4. We can’t imagine a better time for globe-trotting adventures with Nathan Drake, an iconic cast of characters, and thrilling treasure-hunting action gameplay.

Journey

Then there’s Journey, a beautiful, celebrated adventure that is as moving as it is mysterious. The game’s life-affirming message is timeless, and perhaps more important now than ever before.
