Could the PS5 be better than a PC?
The longstanding battle between PC owners and console “peasants” has raged for years, with latter permanently trying to catch up to the former.
Developers have always attempted to instil the power of a computer in a home console, but the adjustable nature of the PC usually keeps it on top.
Sony will focus on several areas where it could potentially keep up, ranging from specifications to value and console exclusives.

How much would it cost to build a PS5-rivalling PC?
Although there is limited information to go on so far, some tech publications have provided a cost breakdown of what a PS5-capable PC looks like, and it’s not pretty.
According to VG47, a PC rivalling the latest available specs of a PS5 would require the following parts at the following prices:
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 – £265
- SSD: Corsair MP600 m.2 PCIe 4.0 1TB – £200
- Drive: Pioneer 4K UHD Blu Ray Writer – £125
The listed components come to £860 alone, but VG47 notes a full PC would need much more, so the full price may clock in at £1160 to £1260.
