Queen and Adam Lambert: 'Bohemian Rhapsody gave us new life, but was very DIFFICULT' 1

This weekend Queen and Adam Lambert kick off the next leg of their Rhapsody tour with two shows in Seoul, South Korea. Upon landing at the airport, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor were surprised to be met by so many young fans screaming joyfully at them, something they said hasn’t happened in years. Taking a press conference with Lambert before Saturday’s show at Gocheok Skydome, the duo put the resurgence in Queen and Freddie Mercury’s popularity down to the success of the Bohemian Rhapsody movie.

May said: “The news got to us that [Bohemian Rhapsody] was a huge success in this country, which is wonderful.

“And as Roger said, it has definitely brought a new generation to us, which is very exciting.

“It’s a wonderful feeling that the film has generated.

“We feel it, we feel things have changed and it’s given us a new life in a sense.”

He added: “After working with Adam for so many years, the shows have got better and better and better.

“So this is a great time to be here to play for such a new audience for Queen.”

After Queen and Adam Lambert have performed in South Korea this weekend, they’ll fly to Tokyo for four shows in Japan.
