Queen and Adam Lambert tour: Brian May was ‘BEYOND words’ after THIS ‘true miracle’

Last night, Queen and Adam Lambert played the first show of the Oceania leg of their Rhapsody world tour. The iconic trio took over the open-air Westpac Stadium in Wellington but the show was almost cancelled. Guitarist Brian May shared on social media how the weather change was a “kind of miracle”.

The 72-year-old wrote: “Thanks beautiful people of Wellington !

“Amazing night. Beyond words…

“You know, it truly was a kind of miracle that the weather changed so dramatically in our favour.

“If tonight had been like the previous night with that wind and rain the show would have had to be cancelled.”

On September 3, 1968, Harrison was struggling to get his guitar to “weep” so he called up Clapton.

It turns out the Queen and Beatles guitarists only met once in 1992 at the Water Rats Charity Ball where they shared a snap.

And just before Harrison’s death in November 2001, May gave an interview praising him.

Speaking with Guitarist Magazine, the Queen star said: “ I’ve only met George once. We played together at a Water Rats do, when Bert Weedon was King Rat.”
