As the lockdown continues, Queen drummer Roger Taylor has been keeping spirits high. The 70-year-old has been sharing mini drum lessons for fans on his Instagram account. And the latest sees a rendition of the drum part for You’re My Best Friend by Queen bassist John Deacon.
In the video, Taylor teaches the reverse tom fill from the track taken from Queen album A Night at the Opera.
The drummer says: “Hello to everyone, you’re watching virus drum club.
“And thank you to all the other guys who have contributed; really appreciate it.
“Had a request from Steven Adler, hi Steven.”

You’re My Best Friend was written by John Deacon for and about his wife Veronica Tetzlaff.
After first appearing on 1975’s A Night at the Opera, the song was later released as a single and is considered one of Queen’s greatest hits.
Following Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991, Queen released their final album in his memory before Deacon retired.
The Queen bassist has been living a quiet life with his wife in Southwest London ever since.
