All eyes are back on Queen – yet again. For five decades the band has been topping the charts and selling out stadiums and this week they are back on top again after the release of new album and film, Live Around The World. Brian excitedly messaged fans today: “Thanks Folks for making us Number 1 on iTunes this morning!” In a new interview, the Queen star opened up about how his love for Freddie has never dimmed, almost thirty years after his death.
Brian was joined by Roger Taylor and new Queen frontman Adam Lambert for a live streamed interview where they took questions from fans all round the world.
Brian thrilled everyone by revealing that his favourite Queen song is one that makes him feel very close to Freddie.
He also admitted that his much-missed bandmate is always with him on stage and that touring again has given him a chance to reconnect with Freddie.

Brian said: “There is one song that I sing together with Freddie. I can’t see ever not wanting to do that. Of course, the audience do it all and its all about the audience and sharing that moment.
“The memories and the fact that were still here… The legacy lives on.
“I think Freddie would be so happy about that.”
Brian went on to talk about the pain of “losing” Freddie and John Deacon.

Brian added: “Obviously we so often wish Freddie was here to share it with us and John too.
“Because we kind of lost John as well. It’s very hard.”
Brian and Roger rarely talk about their other bandmate, who quit Queen and the music business in 1997, six years after Freddie died. His involvement had already decreased drastically after losing his friend in 1991. At the time John said, “There is no point carrying on. It is impossible to replace Freddie.”
However, the band’s resurgence has proved there is still an appetite and place for Queen in the modern music scene, so why haven’t Brian and Roger tried to involve him more?

When the movie Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 2018 Queen-mania erupted around the world. It grossed over $ 900million and gave the Queen and Adam Lambert juggernaut even more power.
Why wasn’t John Deacon involved?
During promotions for the movie, Brian revealed that John was sent the early scripts and his opinion was sought but he did not reply. In fact, the other two have not heard from him for over a decade.
May said take his silence as acquiescence: “It’s his choice. He doesn’t contact us. John was quite delicate all along.”
When the film Bohemian Rhapsody came out, Taylor said: “I haven’t heard a squeak from John, not a single guttural grunt.”
He retains his equal stake in the band’s royalties and revenues and potentially has a say in all Queen endeavours, but has chosen to withdraw completely from the band and the public eye.
