Elsewhere, Rebecca is currently fronting a new campaign for Smart Energy GB campaign to highlight the £650 million of “invisible” waste that we as a nation could save by upgrading our outdated energy system.
The swimmer said she “didn’t appreciate” her smart meter at first but is now “competitive” with her boyfriend about who has used the least amount of energy.
She said: “When it comes to reducing waste at home, we are all trying to do more.
“We recycle, drink from reusable cups and eat wonky carrots. We all know that we need to save energy too, but because energy waste is invisible, it’s tricky to know how we can reduce it.”
