Rudy Gobert has NSFW response to someone who said he caused coronavirus shutdown 1

Rudy Gobert was calmly playing a game of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” this week when someone in his chat brought up the coronavirus.

Gobert is often blamed for causing the NBA season to shutdown as he was the first known player to be diagnosed with COVID-19. His teammate, Donovan Mitchell, was also diagnosed with COVID-19 and many assumed Gobert gave the disease to Mitchell because he was reportedly “careless” in the locker room.

In truth, there’s no way of knowing if how Gobert got sick, whether he gave COVID-19 to Mitchell or, really, anything. All we know is they both tested positive for COVID-19. But that doesn’t stop some from continuing the “Gobert is at fault” narrative.

A Twitch user named “gbgator” apparently left a comment in Gobert’s stream with that theory. Since Gobert deleted the comment (and likely banned the user), we can’t see exactly what said. But we can see another user’s comment which provides some context.

Gobert can then be heard on stream addressing “gbgator.”

The Jazz center tells the user to, “Go to school, p—.”

In other words, Gobert is telling the user to get educated.

Gobert was definitely careless with his actions as he touched the microphones of reporters and reportedly touched “other players and their belongings” while he was sick. But these sporting events were going to get canceled whether Gobert got sick or not. If he wasn’t going to be the first player, someone else was going to be.

The Jazz center later apologized for his actions.

“The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered,” he said on Instagram. “At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus.”

So while Gobert certainly didn’t help things, he’s not solely to blame for us having no sports at the moment.
