Both Garcia and Campbell had no issue making weight and came in at 135 pounds. Both looked to be in tremendous shape and made clear their intentions.

“This is the opportunity that I’ve been waiting for,” said Campbell (20-3, 16 KOs). The former lightweight contender aims to finally get closer to his dreams of becoming a champion after being turned back by Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2019 and Jorge Linares in 2017.

Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs), arguably the fastest-rising star in boxing, has bad intentions for his opponent. After back-to-back first-round knockouts against Francisco Fonseca and Romero Duno, Garcia looks to add the 2012 Olympic gold medalist to his resume.

“I’m ready,” said Garcia. “The words have been said, everything is done. I’m just ready to do me.”

Billed as “Fire & Ice,” Garcia is set to take the toughest test of his career as “Cool Hand” Campbell plans to put out the flame that is Garcia. But Garcia takes some offense to the billing for the fight.

“Who made that up?” Garcia asked. “It’s really fire that melts ice.”

Garcia remains the betting favorite at minus-400 while Campbell is the underdog at plus-260. It’s a position with which Campbell is familiar.

“I’ve been the underdog my entire career since the amateur days. It doesn’t bother me at all,” said Campbell.

Despite being the favorite and promising a vicious beating, Garcia refuses to look past the man who will be standing across the ring from him Saturday.

“I take no man lightly,” he said before adding a bit for those tuning in.

“Don’t blink.”
