Arsenal handed Thomas Partey boost

Atletico Madrid have identified a replacement for Arsenal transfer target Thomas Partey, it has been claimed.

The Gunners are eager to bring the Ghanaian to the Premier League as Mikel Arteta looks to construct a new-look spine to the side.

Partey has been one of Europe’s stand-out box-to-box midfielders for the past few seasons and the defensive-minded 26-year-old, who also excels at bursting forward, has been identified as a key target by Arteta.

La Liga giants Atletico are understandably keen to keep hold of the player, offering him a new contract until 2025 which reportedly includes both a wage increase and a higher release clause.

His current exit clause stands at around £45million (€50m) – a fee currently out of reach for Arsenal unless they sell players or look to include players in a swap deal for Partey.

Yet according to FootballGhana, Atletico have lined up a successor to Partey in case they do have to part ways with the African.

Liverpool fired Timo Werner warning

Liverpool are ready to raid RB Leipzig for Timo Werner this summer, according to reports.

But Jamie Carragher thinks Jurgen Klopp may miss out on the forward because of the financial results Manchester United announced yesterday.

Werner has been in sensational form this season, netting 27 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions.

He explained: “I think there was a good chance of it happening before the pandemic happened.

“But financially now you don’t know what state clubs are in.

“I actually saw something on Twitter before about Man United’s financial results so, you would expect Liverpool to be pretty similar [as to] how they’ve been affected.

“I am sure that will affect the transfer market.

Santi Cazorla to make Arsenal return?

Arsenal fans believe Santi Cazorla is set to return to the Emirates this summer after the Gunners posted a picture of the player alongside a cryptic message.

Cazorla has admitted he wants to return to the Gunners in a possible coaching capacity in the future, however, some Arsenal fans think it could be on the cards this summer after a message was posted on the club’s official Twitter account.

Along with a picture of the club legend, Arsenal posted a short but somewhat cryptic message: “Santi. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”

However, fans were quick to respond and called for the 35-year-old to be reunited with his former team-mate, Mikel Arteta.

One said: “Bring him back already.”

While a second added: “Announce his return. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”

Another added: “He’s coming home.”

Sergio Aguero future

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is a summer transfer target for Real Madrid and Inter Milan and both clubs have made contact with the striker’s agent, according to reports.

The 31-year-old is a key player for City boss Pep Guardiola and the Argentine is having another great season for the Sky Blues.

Aguero has scored 23 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions this season.

However, the player’s contract expires in 2021 and clubs are beginning to sniff around about the player’s future.

According to transfer expert Nicolo Schira, two of those teams are Real and Inter.

“Real Madrid and Inter have asked infos to his agent in the last days,” Schira tweeted.

Jadon Sancho to Man Utd latest

Manchester United will be able to outspend their rivals for any of their transfer targets this summer, including Jadon Sancho, despite the club reporting net debts of over £400million.

That’s according to ESPN pundit Julien Laurens, who warned that United are unlikely to “go crazy” in the upcoming window.

Speaking on ESPN FC he said: “Clearly, the money is there,” he said. “That doesn’t mean they are going to spend all of that, they will probably try to be cautious.

“At least you know that even though the debt has increased, there’s enough cash for them to spend in the summer.

“United are in a very strong position, which is good for them. They’re in a unique position because they have that firepower financially.

“A lot of big clubs won’t have that [financial clout in the summer]. It will make the difference when they go for a Sancho, for example, or a Ben Yedder.

“When you go to all those targets they have in all those departments, they’ll be stronger than everyone else.

“That doesn’t mean that they’ll spend £500million or go crazy, but at least they’ll be in a very strong position unlike everyone else.”

Gareth Bale won’t join Newcastle

Dimitar Berbatov does not think Gareth Bale will join Newcastle this summer following their £300million takeover.

He told Betfair: “Every time Gareth Bale is mentioned it is a case of will he leave Real Madrid, will he stay, is he playing, is he scoring, is he playing golf, why is he playing golf? It’s tiring and in my opinion, he has his agent, his family, his surroundings and if they think that Madrid is the right place for him then he will stay, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says.

He added: “At Real Madrid his goals to games ratio has been really impressive and some of the goals he has scored during his time there have been amazing, the type of goals that average players can not score.

“Look at that goal he scored in the Champions League final against Liverpool – it speaks volumes for the quality he has.

“You can know a lot about a player by the type of goals they score and the goals that Bale has scored really tell me that he has a lot of quality.

“There have been a lot of reports about Newcastle possibly signing Bale, he has been at Real Madrid for some time now, he has won so many trophies and he is appreciated around the world for the football he plays.

“But with all due respect, you cannot compare Newcastle with Real Madrid. If Newcastle want to get him, they need to show him that they are building something.”

Liverpool have Sadio Mane replacement plan

Jurgen Klopp sees Timo Werner as Sadio Mane’s potential replacement should he leave Anfield this summer, according to reports in France.

It would come as a huge surprise if Mane was to quit Liverpool at the end of the campaign, given his importance and value to his manager.

Real Madrid have been linked with Mane but the Red remain confident he will stay at Anfield.

According to French outlet Le10 Sport, Klopp already has an idea of his replacement.

He reportedly sees Timo Werner as the man who would come in to replace Mane, should he leave the club.
