Social distancing: Charts show how crucial distancing is to control coronavirus outbreak

The video that was originally shared on Instagram, compares two charts over time. The first chart represents the effect of no social distancing on 200 people during the coronavirus outbreak. This is compared with a chart that shows the same scenario with 200 people that engage in social distancing during the pandemic. 

There are currently more than 200,000 COVID-19 cases across the globe.

The death toll has reached more than 8,000 at the time of writing. 

More than 82,000 people worldwide have recovered from being infected with the coronavirus. 

There are currently more than 108,000 active COVID-19 cases in the world.

167 countries at the time of writing have a confirmed case of COVID-19 coronavirus.

Yesterday the United Kingdom’s policy regarding the coronavirus outbreak was labelled “crazy” by a global health professor.

Professor Anthony Costello told Channel 4 News that the British Government’s decision to stop population testing was “very worrying”.
